That girl cracks me up...

A couple funny things that Avery has said lately that are too good to forget. The other day, after driving in the car, I pull in the driveway, and she says "Good driving, mom!" Just out of nowhere.....a little encouragement for me, I guess.

The other night in the bathtub, she was playing with some toys and I asked her the names of them. As matter-of-factly as possible, she says "Kevin, Rex, Sonny, and Jose." So funny.

Sneaky girls

Our friends, Randy and Tricia, and their two kids, Ty and Megan, came out to see our new house on Saturday. Avery and Megan thought it was a blast to run from closet to closet and hide inside. We were downstairs talking when we heard the girls get awfully quiet upstairs. We headed up to find the master bedroom and bathroom doors shut. I opened the door and saw Avery in the bathtub with all of her clothes on. Megan was splashing her hair while Avery kept saying, "Do it again, Meg, do it again!" All Tricia and I could do was roll on the floor laughing. I looked down and noticed that Avery had taken her socks off so they wouldn't get wet. Good thinking, Ave! The funniest part was afterwards when Megan went and sat down on the steps and said, "This was all my fault. I should have been following the rules." Oh, the conscience of a four year old. :)

Potty Training Joys

So...I am not really trying to potty train Avery....#1, I am not really ready to do it, and #2, we're moving shortly into our new house, and I don't want to potty train during a transition time. :) But, she's showing interest, so I thought we could try it out and see how far it goes. Well, tonight she sat on the potty (normally she doesn't do anything) and I heard a loud plop sound. (Sorry if this is too much info, but I am really excited!) I looked in, and sure enough, she had gone! I think it's so funny that my life has come to getting excited about bodily functions. :) Something I never thought possible a few years ago.

Funny awakening

This is what I hear in the monitor this morning....."Mom...open the door, mom. Open the door, mom. Mom.....I need to tell you a secret, mom. Open the door, mom. I need to tell you a secret, mom." So, when I went into her room to get her up, I asked her what the secret was. She said, "I want to tell a secret to daddy." Figures, huh? Is he the one up with her at 7:30.....I don't think so! Funny way to start the day....

My girlie girl

Today something happened that convinced me this blog was a good idea. Something funny, that if not written down, would be forgotten. Avery was playing with my dad today and he was showing her some shotgun shells. (Yes, I know, what every two year old wants to play with.) Anyway, he asked her if she knew what they were, and she held one up to her lips and pretended to put it on like a tube of lipstick. I thought, way to go, my little girlie-girl! I think it made my dad cringe...he desperately wants a little grandson. :)

Why???

Why did I create this blog. Well....if you ask my husband, I have one of the worst memories of anyone he knows. I needed an easy way to keep track and jot down things that happen in our family. Since using paper and pencil is almost unheard of anymore, I thought a blog was the way to go. So, here goes.....we'll see how often I get around to posting anything.
